1. Information We Collect
Furble collects various types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your authentication details (email or phone number) for verification, and optionally your date of birth if you choose to provide it.
- Profile & Pet Information: Your username, bio, photos, and the pet profiles you create (species, breed, size, birthday, photos).
- Location Information: With your permission, we collect location data to show you relevant events in your area. This is optional and can be disabled at any time.
- Device Information: We collect information about your device, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Information: We collect data about how you interact with our app, including events you view, create, attend, review, and comment on.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our services
- To show you relevant events based on your location
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud
- To communicate with you about service updates
- To build a first-party interest profile that personalizes your experience (see Section 3)
- To review content for safety using automated AI analysis running on our own infrastructure
3. Personalization & Interest Profile
To recommend events and content you are likely to enjoy, Furble builds an interest profile from your activity within the app: the pets you add (species, breed, age), the events you view, attend, create, and review, your comments and bio, and topics our AI detects in the photos and text you share. This processing happens on our own systems; your data is not sold and is not shared with third-party ad networks.
- Your control:You can turn off "Personalized recommendations" at any time in Settings → Notifications → Privacy. Turning it off stops this processing and erases your derived interest profile.
- Sponsored content:If we ever show sponsored suggestions matched to your interests, that uses a separate "Personalized sponsored content" setting that is OFF by default — profile-matched sponsored content only appears if you opt in.
- Retention: Interest data older than two years is deleted automatically. Interest records may persist after you delete an individual piece of content (for example a single comment), but deleting your account deletes all of them (see Section 5).
4. Data Sharing
We share your information with:
- Service providers who assist in our operations (hosting, messaging)
- Law enforcement when required by law
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your interest profile with advertisers or third-party ad networks.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account in-app, which permanently deletes your content, your interest profile, and all derived data
- Opt out of personalization at any time in Settings (sponsored personalization is opt-in and off by default)
- Disable location services

7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
